Oregon Coast, End of August '06
On the way to the Larval Biology Conference, we drove along the beautiful Pacific coast.
This first photo is of Heceta Head lighthouse (it doesn't show the gray whales swimming by and doesn't convey the sounds and smell of the sea lions)
Little Charlie didn't really appreciate the "giant sand box", the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area
Bird rocks and beaches south of Newport
Someone was very happy with soft sand and cool water

The trip to Coos Bay was wonderful. I am glad I have such an intelligent wife, who gets to give papers in such beautiful locations.
Love,
Charlie
